Is the Gary Fisher Marlin 29er Compatible?
It would be nice to put 29 in wheels on my fisher, i know i need a new front fork (an upgrade from the dart 2 to dart3 at least) but will the frame support 29 in wheels and will they fit?
Nope....not going to work at all . Your frame was designed for a 26" wheel not a 29er. That Dart 2 you have is designed for a 26" wheel only to go up to a fork such as a Rock Shox Reba designed for a 29er will just not fit your bikes frame unless you only used the 29er fork in the front but you would NEVER get that rear end to accept that size wheel. If the front only were a 29er your bikes geometry would be so far out of whack you likely wouldnt be able to ride it but instead just look at a useless bike in the garage. Dart 3 is not that much of an upgrade over a dart 2 either. Gor for a Reba or a Tora for an upgrade!
