bow hunting ground hogs?
Ground hogs are tearing up the foundation of my barn, so I need to get rid of them. I tried trapping them, but they learned to stay away from the traps. so im gonna hunt them. I have a twenty two, but bow hunting anything gives me more of a rush than gun hunting. So I have a few questions.
Even though season is year round state wide, what is the best time of year to hunt them?
Aluminum or carbon fiber arrows?
What kind of broad head?
What time of day?
Will a 50 lb draw strength work?
Any useful tactics or methods of hunting them, like still hunting, ground blinds or tree stands, or stalking?
Also, just out of curiosity, does anyone know if it is legal to bait for groundhogs in Kentucky?
Please note that i am not worried about being humane or ethical when hunting these damn giant rats, I only want them gone, and plus I already tried being humane by trapping them. Please be truthful and state source, thanks.
You seem a little confused. Are you looking to make this a challenging pastime or are you looking to exterminate vermin that are undermining and destroying your property? From the perspective of this farm boy you simply kill groundhogs under a barn as expeditiously as possible. You poison them.
