What happens to a car led connected to a 9 volt battery?

Im using a car LED i bought and i want to connect it to a switch and a 9volt battery.

It will either be dim or possibly not be enough voltage to light it at all.

LEDs run on 3-4v, It will already have a resistor in it somewhere to run at 12v.
