Is the SIG Sauer P226 still made without the rail?
I'm looking to buy a SIG P226, but it's getting hard to find one without the rail manufactured onto it. So I was wondering if the version without a rail is still manufactured, or if there's a way to remove the rail post-buy, because (in my opinion) rails on a pistol outside of law enforcement is useless.
Head to a gun show and try to find a used police trade-in. They don't have rails, and generally run under $400.
Or, you could get the one with rails and just not use them.
